Pali Certificate Course

Duration: Six Months

The Pali Institute invites applications from students below the age of 35 years to attend the Pali Language Certificate Course. Pali Institute takes a limited number of students for the Certificate course in order to provide a intense learning and discussion oriented coursework. Only 30 students are accepted for the course. Students should re-apply iby submitting a fresh application for the next available course.

Pali Diploma Course

Duration: Twelve Months

The Pali Institute invites applications from students below the age of 35 years to attend the Pali Language Diploma Course starting from the month of August every academic year. Pali Institute takes a limited number of students for the Diploma course in order to provide a intense learning and discussion oriented coursework. Students who have completed a Certificate programme from the institute or a similar course where they can demonstrate prior knowledge of either Sanskrit or Pali are given a preference. Only 20 students are accepted for the course. Students should re-apply iby submitting a fresh application for the next available course.

Pali Computational Liguistics Course

Duration: Twelve Months

The Pali Institute invites applications from students below the age of 30 years to attend the Pali Computational Linguistics Course starting from the month of November every academic year. Pali Institute takes a limited number of students for the Diploma course in order to provide a intense learning and project oriented coursework.
Students who have completed a Certificate programme from the institute or a similar course where they can demonstrate prior knowledge of either Sanskrit or Pali are given a preference. Prior knowledge of programming would not be required, but students are expected to have basic understanding of using computers. Only 20 students are accepted for the course. Students should re-apply iby submitting a fresh application for the next available course.
Students who have prior programming knowledge will be exempted from the introductory programming course and are expected to begin with the language modelling course in the first term, if and only if they have a background in Sanskrit or Pali or other Indian language models. This will ensure that students time in the labs are utulised optimally.
